Raw foods.
"Beka-homemaker"
Lol! We had a busy day yesterday. Several people came to see the cows in the morning so Paul asked me to milk a little later. What to do? Bake some butter pecan bread for Kris. Finish shaking that butter I started about 3 times now. (I would set it out and run out of time before it consolidated. Put it back in the fridge.) For about an hour I shook it and still it just looked like whipped cream only it kept getting thicker! You could have left a print in it and come back tomorrow and it would have still been visible! Made for some hard shaking, good for toneing up your biceps though. Finally it turned, I only got 1qt of buttermilk. No wonder it was so hard to shake!

Cultivation
I am so happy. It is once again time for growing things! I had a manure pile I had forked out of the goats' pen and Kris moved it to the garden for me. I offered him a bribe but he didn't take it. Lol. Maybe his future holds some butter pecan bread. Now don't any little Birdies go telling on me. This afternoon Naomi sent her nephew down to till it up for me! She told me to just tell him what I wanted and she would take care of the rest. He did an excellent job, very thorough. (He actually did more than I would have. Lol. Doesn't speak well for my dedication to my work. Lol.) Now to plan and plant. We extended it somewhat also. This year I'll have to focus on variety over quantity. I am still adjusting to a one person lifestyle. Probably by the time I finally get adjusted someone will come along and revamp my little world. Oh well. Hoe, hoe, hoe, heave, hoe. Blessings!

A jaunt in the sunshine!
Without the poor crazy mutt. He is bedevilled with puppy puberty, destroys everything within reach, barks his head off and has me teetering on the edge of insanity. When I lose all patience with his antics I take long solitary walks. The other day I made it all the way to the Red House end of my road. By the time I made it home I was limping from the blisters but I had achieved a whole hour and an half of peace and quiet! Ah, the luxury!

Rural "Tractor" jamb
Nope, just some good old boys picturing a couple of high-falutin' cows. Me? Oh I got to be the pooper scooper.
I'm a Mom again!

Goodbye truck, hello crocus!
Bad news is the damage my truck got in December totalled it. They came and picked it up yesterday morning. So I went out to walk my dog in my empty yard and what do you know? I found these lovely ladies hiding in an overgrown flower bed! Spring has sprung!
