Beka's bread pudding

I love those blog recipes that have a picture for every step. Not practical for this chickie. I'm either in a huge rush to get to my food or more often than not I am doing so many things it takes me hours to concoct a simple recipe. Which was the case today with my bread pudding. I started this morning...actually I started yesterday or the day before when I noticed my bread needed used up and set it out on the counter so I wouldn't forget. This morning I saw it for like the fiftieth time and was like if I don't do something with that soon its going to grow legs and run away. Lol. So I dug through my cookbook cabinet trying to find one that had bread pudding. Finally I found one, Ree Drummond's year of holidays. I skimmed the recipe. I'm not doing the sauce, I'll be lucky if I get the pudding done. I'll have to substitute for the half and half as don't have any, never buy any and the milk I get comes from the bottom of the tank and Holsteins don't have much cream anyway.(did you get all that? Lol.) Milk. Milk? Milk! What I have in the fridge smells sour enough to raise the dead. I wonder how long I've had it in there?  Guess I'll have to go down to the milk house and get some fresh... I'll use the fresh eggs I get when I go check the chickens at the noon milking. I'll just get the milk then too. I'll go ahead and cube the loaf of bread. Awe those heels are too good to waste I'll toast them to have with my coffee. Mmm that smells good, it's been a while since I made a pot. Hey...I wonder what it would taste like in the pudding? All these modifications, I guess the recipe is all mine.(the only things I measured were the eggs and milk, sort of. So please forgive me I'll try to approximate the measurements.) Here we go!

Beka's Bread Pudding-
in greased baking dish-
1 loaf of bread, cubed- artisan is best
Sprinkle: 1 cup of brown sugar
                1 cup of chopped nuts
Drizzle: 1/2 cup of maple syrup
              1/2 cup of brewed coffee
              1 cup melted butter
Whisk: 3 eggs
            2 cups of milk
            1 T. Vanilla
Pour over the top. Bake @ 350°F for an hour. Serve warm with milk.

P.S. I finally finished it in time for supper. :) a whole day for one delicious recipe.
